Last Autumn AllGifts.ie and Setanta Sports teamed up to create a television series to show the best adventure experiences available in Ireland. Our mission was to showcase the fantastic adventure experiences available on AllGifts.ie that you must add to your bucket list!
We travelled the length and breath of the country visiting some of our favourite adventure partners, wanting to try out the fantastic experiences on offer.
On a crisp Autumn morning we arrived at Abbeyfield Farm, an equestrian and activity centre located 15 minutes from Maynooth Co. Kildare. Abbeyfield Farm offers a wide range of activities ranging from Horse Riding in the Kildare countryside, to archery, riffle shooting and clay pigeon shooting.
Not far from Abbeyfield Farm, we visited National Flight Centre based at Weston Airport. NFC is Ireland's longest established and largest Flight Training Organisation. We were particularly excited to visit here as it would be our first time flying a plane. After a quick safety briefing, we geared up and set out to see all the different planes available at NFC. Within minutes we were up in the air, and with the guidance of pilot we began to take control of the plane. This was truly a memorable experience, with amazing views all over Maynooth, Leixlip and Celbridge.
Next on our Bucket List was to visit OffRoadDriving.ie, Ireland's specifically designed 4 X 4 off road driving course. Located in the beautiful grounds of Palmerstown House Co. Kildare, OffRoadDriving.ie is the ultimate location to challenge your driving skills!
We set out in a fleet of 4 X 4 Jeeps, firstly touring around the course and offered tips about the challenges the course has to offer. Everyone in the AllGifts.ie Team got the chance to drive a 4 X 4 of their own and completed challenges like the see-saw, slopped embankments and the stairs. See how we got on in the video below.
We got the lucky opportunity to visit Mondello Park, Ireland's only Motor Racing Circuit. Mondello Park is one of our most popular adventure partners on AllGifts.ie and offer packages including the Porsche 911, Porsche Boxter and professional racing cars. This was truly a adrenaline packed experience as we got to try out all the different cars available at Mondello Park.
Snuggled in the Cavan countryside is ODD, short for Out Doors and Dirty. ODD offers a a very unique adventure experience - hovercrafting. Never been tried before by any of our team everyone, we kitted up and enjoyed the experience surrounded by the beautiful landscape at Brackley Lake. Soon after everyone's competitive edge came out as we raced around the specially designed Buggy Racing Track, constructed with sloping corners and challenging bends.
Undoubtedly the most daunting and equally rewarding experience was on our visit to Irish Parachute Centre, one of the longest running parachute clubs in the world. Located not far from Edenderry Co. Offaly the IPC offers the opportunity to skydive from 13,000 feet! Stepping up to the challenge was Gary who decided to take the leap for the AllGifts.ie team. Despite being a bundle of nerves, Gary kitted up and prepared for the journey to 13,000 feet. Within minutes Gary was sitting on the edge of the plane with his tandem master and jumped into the clouded sky. From the ground the sight was amazing as they spiraled through the sky to the ground.
Our mission when creating The AllGifts.ie Bucket List was to showcase the best adventure experiences available in Ireland, and thus inspire people to add these to their own bucket list. Life is too short and sometimes we let time past by without challenging ourselves. We challenge you to try at least one of these experiences in 2016, however daunting they may seem, you will remember the experience for the rest of your life!
